A project with future: DOTS

Lately, we had the opportunity, in the context of the 2015-3-ES02-KA105-007226 project, to travel to the UK.  As well as enjoying fairly good weather, we were able to share three intense days working with an exceptional, multidisciplinary team of youth workers, all of whom were full of excitement, eagerness and positivity. 

The participants – The Rosetta Foundation (IE), Ateneum Foundation (SWE), DHEF-The Baytree Project (UK) and Fundació Montblanc (SP) – were hosted in Ashwell House, a student residence in London.  This meeting allowed us to gain a deep understanding of the tasks and services which our organisations manage on a day-to-day basis, as well as the experiences they’ve had working with young volunteers from diverse backgrounds. We also were able to determine the learning needs of those young people who are developing volunteer programmes within the participant entities, which we describe as the ‘DOTS’ skillset (because of their initials in English): development of new skills, opportunities for personal achievement, team work, and services to others (active citizenship).
