Kimlea

Location: Tigoni (Kenya).

Project: Kimlea Support.

Objective: The Kimlea Centre prepares 120 women either for an occupation or to start their own businesses. The Montblanc Foundation channels contributions and sends its own funding to financially assist these young women.

Counterpart: Kianda Foundation.

Beneficiaries: 120 women each year.

Kimlea Technical Centre was established in 1992 with the help of the European Union.  It is a professional training school for young women who have not been able to continue their studies due to their families’ situations of extreme poverty.  The majority of the adult population in this area works in tea harvesting and only earns 1 euro a day.
