Project: Children's Health Programme.
Objective: The Health Programme for Children focuses on the population of Limuru, in a rural region situated 50km northeast of Nairobi, the capital of Kenya.
Counterpart: Kimlea Training Center.
Beneficiaries: 4.200 children and 1.800 parents.
The Kimlea Clinic - a medical dispensary - is located in Limuru, and attends to families in the area. The project deals with establishing a form of medical security through the creation of a fund. It is hoped that in the next 10 years, child mortality, malnutrition, and common infections and illnesses such as malaria and bronchitis will be drastically reduced in this area.
