Active Ageing Through Active Citizenship

The global aim of the project is to improve adult education services which the institutions voluntarily carry out, to help alleviate the difficult consequences of the present financial recession.

By so doing, they hope that the promotion of active old age through the strengthening of active citizenry should contribute so that some people can return to work in the labour market. Voluntary work plays an important role in this project.

The goals are as follows:

1. Improve skills and abilities of adult educators.
2. Equip educators and students with adequate resources that will permit them to be active in old age, ensuring significant participation in society, especially through voluntary work.
3. Introduce innovative approahces and methods of teaching to the education of adults.
4. Provide student with the skills and profesional abilities to better serve local communities.
5. Contribute to european integration through collaborating with associated organisations and exchange of best practices.

The principal activity of the project is developed through 12 workshops in which personnel members, adult students and volunteers take part.
