World Water Day

World Water Day was celebrated on this day, a day marked this year in the context of the International Year of Cooperation in Water matters, held by the ONU for 2013. The reason for which the theme for this year was “Cooperation in Water Matters”.

Easy access to drinking water is crucial for development, health and the fight against poverty in many parts of the world. In marking this day it is hoped that people will be made aware of the necessity of making good use of water resources and sharing them in whatever way possible.

The goal of the activities this year is to promote cooperation between different groups of users and improve water management and so facilitate all provisions, which translates into reduction of poverty and improvement of life conditions for many human collectives.
