Today a new annual project "Human rights and training of university students that generate initiatives for citizenship" begins in Kinshasa is intended for the university community.
The project is executed with the collaboration of the Ilustre Colegio de Abogados de Barcelona [Illustrious College of Lawyers of Barcelona] (ICAB) and the NGO Centro Congolais de Culture [Congolese Culture Centre], de Formation et de Développement [Training and Development] (CECFOR) in Kinshasa. The Asociación de Mujeres juristas [Women’s Lawyer Association] in Kinshasa, and with the direction of the lawyers M. José Fuente Boix (Barcelona) and Nadine Omoy Mundala (Kinshasa), provide support.
This project is a continuation of the one held last semester. One of the aims of the project is the training and raising interest for a new group of 25 students so that they can promote awareness, in the first place, in the universities and also in the schools, with the almost high school graduates that in a few months will become part of the university world.
Furthermore, the project seeks to reinforce the skills of the university students trained in the last project, launching micro-actions which result from the previous empowerment of human rights, promoted in the first phase of the project, and to encourage the participation in citizenship initiatives.
